The Overstrand Municipality’s Building Control Department will accept building plan applications from 08:00 until 15:00 Mondays to Fridays. The offices are closed between 13:00 - 13:45.

In line with Covid-19 Risk Adjusted Strategy, we aim to keep human interaction to a minimum.  Our staff component rotate or work flexi time.

Only one person from the public is allowed into the Building Control office at a time. Face masks to be worn at all times in the office. Offices are fumigated weekly and sanitised daily.

A Covid-19 screening test is performed before entering the office. Covid-19 screening in Kleinmond and Gansbaai is done at the main building entrance.

LOCAL LIBRARIES FOR ISSUING OF BOOKS AND OTHER LIBRARY MATERIALS WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNDER LOCKDOWN LEVEL 3 TO RESTRICT COVID-19 TRANSMISSION THROUGH SOCIAL DISTANCING AND LIMITING PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH MATERIALS.

All books and other library materials need to be returned to libraries by 23 June 2020. All late books returned within the above mentioned grace period, will be exempt from any fines incurred during the lockdown.

Libraries are open as from 4 June 2020, from 09:00 - 15:30, Mondays – Fridays. Unfortunately, members will not be allowed to borrow any ‘new’ books and/or other library material until further notice. We appeal to residents to return their books and report lost books.

All rates halls and pay point offices in Hermanus, Gansbaai, Stanford and Kleinmond are once again open to the public for payment of municipal accounts and pre-paid electricity.

Strict social distancing measures will apply and remember your face mask.

The operating hours during the Covid-19 lockdown will be as follows:

HERMANUS ADMINISTRATION: Mondays to Fridays: 08:30 - 15:30*

GANSBAAI-STANFORD ADMINISTRATION:  Mondays to Fridays: 08:00 - 15:30 with a lunch break between 13:00 – 13:45

Overstrand Council unanimously approved the Executive Mayor’s Budget and Integrated Development Plan for the 2020/21 financial year on Wednesday, 27 May 2020.

Given the current challenges that ratepayers and the Municipality face, sweeping changes to the proposed draft budget had to be considered to mitigate risks resulting from the outbreak of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

Combined, the 2020/21 Expenditure Budget will amount to R1.342 billion Operational Expenditure and R303.7 million capital expenditure.

The revenue, including capital grants, amounts to R1.287 billion.
