Residents are requested to make use of the opportunity to collect ID documents, register births, apply for smart ID cards and more.

The next UIF visit is scheduled to take place on 12 and 15 May 2023 from 09:30 at the Overstrand Thusong Centre in Hawston. The Department of Labour changed the dates to accommodate SASSA on 16 May in Hawston.

On 22 & 23 May 2023 at 09:15, the Department of Labour will be at the Blompark Community Hall in Gansbaai.

On 10 May 2023 at 08:30 they will visit Kleinmond at the Kleinmond Town Hall.

On 4 May 2023, Overstrand Executive Mayor, Dr Annelie Rabie and her team will join Western Cape Premier Alan Winde for his Open Government First Thursday event in Hermanus.

This initiative is part of the Premier’s outreach to communities outside Cape Town and will start at 17:00 in the Overstrand Municipal Auditorium and Banqueting Hall in Hermanus.

Mayor Rabie encourages residents and business owners to come and meet Premier Winde and his Cabinet, in person, to discuss challenges and/or to raise any concerns that is not the mandate of local government.

On Wednesday afternoon, 3 May 2023 at 16:00, the follow-up meeting after the initial public meeting held on 6 February 2023 on the Hermanus Country Market, will be held in the Municipal Auditorium in Hermanus.

The Hermanus Country Market has been given permission to trade from this long weekend till the end of May 2023.

This decision was taken having due regard for the good faith shown by the Hermanus Country Market within the last week. The Hermanus Country Market has removed the structures on municipal land adjacent to Generation School and have started earnest negotiations to submit formal applications and a draft sub-lease.
