Remember, when many affected customers report the problem, it will naturally receive a higher priority.

Eskom relies on the report/reference of just one complainant, it may seem that the fault is a single customer issue.

Overstrand Municipality again performed well above average in its drinking water quality management, according to the 2023 Blue Drop Watch report that was released by the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) on 6 June 2023.

This ‘Watch’ report is published prior to the planned July release of the full 2023 Blue Drop Report, which will include a complete assessment of the state of all drinking water systems in the country and seeks to keep the public updated and informed on the status of drinking water infrastructure and water quality.

The Preekstoel Water Treatment Works (WTW) received an overall performance indicator score of 94%, placing the municipality in the 5^th position in the Western Cape.

In 2017, Overstrand Municipality sold land known as the old Circus Grounds along the R43 on the corner of Main and Mussel Roads in Hermanus, to Massbuild (Pty) Ltd by tender.

Building plans for the development of a Builders Express has been submitted to the Municipality.  The building plans are currently being scrutinised for approval.

Building rubble is currently stored on the erf and will be used as filling material for the anticipated building works.
