The South African Weather Service (SAWS) indicated Damaging Winds, Disruptive Rain, Damaging Waves (yellow level 4) are expected for this week.
Another cold front is passing over the province today with further rain and showers expected over most of the province. (Warnings for rain, interior wind and coastal wind and waves have already been issued).
Light snowfalls are possible over the western mountain peaks today. Cloudy to partly cloudy weather will remain for Tuesday with few isolated passing showers over the western and southern parts tomorrow morning.
Another cold front clips the southern parts of the province on Wednesday, bringing cloudy conditions with light rain over the south-west and southern coastal areas.
Temperatures will remain cold for the start of the week, but recovering on Thursday and Friday as the weather clears and mostly sunny weather is expected.
Another weak cold front is expected to pass over the southern parts of the province on Saturday, again pushing in cloudy conditions with light rain. Cloudy weather with light rain persists for the south coast and adjacent interior on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to drop for the weekend. Off the coast, strong to gale force westerly to south-westerly winds (60-80 km/h gusting up to 100-120 km/h) can be expected between Cape Columbine and Plettenberg Bay. These strong winds will still persist along the south coast tomorrow, however gradually moderating in speeds during the day, while fresh to strong winds (30-50 km/h) expected in the west.
Fresh to strong winds (30-50 km/h) will dominate the coastline for the remainder of the week. South-westerly swells will dominate for the week, with wave heights between 5.0-8.0 m on Monday and Tuesday. Wave heights between 3.0-4.0 m can be expected for the remainder of the week. Although possible reaching 5.0 m along the west and south-west coast on Sunday.
