The newly elected Overstrand Executive Mayor, Annelie Rabie, introduced her Mayoral Committee at a council meeting held in Hermanus on Wednesday, 25 November 2021.

The Deputy Executive Mayor for Overstrand,Cllr  Lindile Ntsabo, is the new chairperson of Protection Services whilst Cllr Clinton Lerm will be the chairperson of Investment and Infrastructure.

Cllr Arnie Africa is now the chairperson of Management Services and Communication, Cllr Ronald Nutt of Community Services and Ald Elnora Gillion of Economic Development.

Executive Mayor Annelie Rabie will be responsible for Finance as well as Tourism and the Schulphoek Development for the next few months.

With the December holidays around the corner, roads in the Overstrand are expected to get busy.

Motorists can expect visible traffic check points and roving roadblocks on the N2, R43, R44, R316, R319 and R320. The purpose of these roadblocks will be to demonstrate to the public at large, that all law enforcement agencies and traffic services are united against recklessness, irresponsible behaviour and dangerous drivers.

Traffic officers will maintain a high visibility and manning joint roadblocks to ensure that only roadworthy vehicles and legally licensed drivers are using the roads.

Please adhere to the speed limit and do not drink and drive.

Overstrand Municipality's Executive Mayor, Annelie Rabie, hereby invites all baboon  stakeholders to a meeting to discuss and fully understand the issues relative to co-habitation  with baboons. 

It is a Council/citizenry engagement and does not include officials from either Overstrand or  other government entity, except the Municipal Manager.
