On 18 October 2022, Overstrand Executive Mayor, Dr Annelie Rabie, met with stakeholders within the Hangklip-Kleinmond area for discussions on baboon management.

It was decided that each village in Ward 10 would hold separate meetings to deliberate on these issues and determine whether there is a need for such a programme, what it should entail and how it should be structured.

Meetings will be held on the following dates:

•    Betty's Bay: 3 November at 18:00 in Crassula Hall
•    Pringle Bay: 10 November at 18:00 in the Pringle Bay Community Hall
•    Rooiels: 17 November at 18:00 in the Pringle Bay Community Hall

In November 2024, 20 digit token identifier (TID) on all pre-paid electricity meters used in the Overstrand Municipal area will expire and will stop accepting electricity tokens.

Residents who are using these Standard Transfer Specification (STS) pre-paid electricity meters will therefore not be able to buy electricity, unless the pre-paid meter has been reprogrammed. Units that are on your meter will still be available after the reset, so please make sure that all tokens are punched in.

To ensure a seamless continuation of service, Overstrand Municipality will follow a phased in approach per area to assist consumers with the re-programming.

The first phase of the project will start in Kleinmond, Eastcliff, Hermanus Heights, Voëlklip, Westcliff, Northcliff, Beach Club, Whale Rock Estate, Hermanus Industria, Masakhane, Franskraal, Uilenkraalsmond and Gansbaai Farms from 1 November 2022.

A series of Public Ward Committee meetings will kick off tonight, 24 October 2022. The draft ward priorities for the 2023/24 Integrated Development Plan (IDP) review will be discussed.

Open during the week:

The traffic offices in Hermanus will be open Mondays - Fridays from 08:00 - 15:15 and alternative Saturdays from 08:30 until 12:00.

The traffic offices in Kleinmond and Gansbaai will be open Mondays - Fridays from 08:00 - 15:15 with a lunch break between 13:00 - 13:45.
